Chitwan, Pokhara and the Imperial Cities in the Kathmandu Valley
Nepal is more than the white peaks of the Himalayas. Chitwan National Park even has a subtropical climate and is perfect for a safari, for example on elephant back. Pokhara, starting point for trekking in the Annapurna region, lies on Lake Phewa and has plenty sports options for an active vacation. In the Kathmandu Valley are the imperial cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, where culture lovers will get their hearts' desire. 26 photos.

Ganesh Himal Trek
Rickety suspension bridges over deep canyons
Climbing stairs and rocks, hiking over terraces and in the jungle, crossing suspension bridges over rivers and canyons, walking through the clouds above 4,000 meters toward snowy peaks. On high mountain passes the tent is covered in ice when it freezes over ten degrees centigrade at night. The Ganesh Himal Trek is tough, but an unforgettable experience. 23 photos.

Travelogues partly about Nepal
The next travel reports are mainly about different countries, but during these journeys Nepal was also visited.
Bicycling on the Friendship Highway
From Lhasa to Kathmandu, crossing passes at 5,000 meters
The Friendship Highway is still asphalted south of Lhasa, but that changes quickly when it meanders over 5,000 meters high passes in the Himalayas. In the course of the 1,100 kilometers to Kathmandu in Nepal, the Highway frequently isn't even recognizable as a road. At great altitudes, between the mountains, you can find shellfish on a former ocean floor. Bicycling in Tibet is extreme, in many ways. 21 photos.

Backpacking in India and Nepal
Chaotic cities and green landscapes
Delhi looks like a big, chaotic garbage dump where holy cows block traffic. Via Bikaner (rat temple and camel trip), Jodhpur (fort on a cliff), Jaipur (Amber Fort) and Agra (Taj Mahal) in Rajasthan to colorful Varanasi on the holy Ganges river. Bungee jumping, rafting and paragliding in Nepal, in the surroundings of Kathmandu and Pokhara. Back in India via the jungle of Goa with its beautiful beach to Mumbai, where the streets display enormous poverty. 39 photos.
