It's safe for women to walk around on their own. You don't have to wear a head scarf and can dress in "western" style. However, it is greatly appreciated if you don't dress too provocatively. My advice: wear clothes that are a little wide and cover your shoulders and knees.

Climate and best time to travel

The best time to visit Dubai is from November through April. We were there late December/early January and the average temperature was 25 degrees centigrade. In the summer, temperatures can reach 50 degress centigrade, with a high level of humidity.

Compare car rent

If you know in advance which places you're going to visit, you can find out online if and where there are ATM's where you can use your MasterCard and Cirrus or Visa to withdraw money.

Plan your trip to United Arab Emirates online

Through online reservation systems like À la Carte Vacations you can book airline tickets, hotels, rental cars and holiday houses. You can build a fly-drive itinerary with maximum flexibility, book a flight plus a hotel hotel for a night or weekend. Without the limitations of package deals from travel organisations and most times for a much better price.
